A erstwhile Major League Baseball subordinate and retired correctional serviceman with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office has died.

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- A erstwhile Major League Baseball subordinate and retired correctional serviceman with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office has died.

The sheriff's bureau has confirmed that La Schelle Tarver died past month.

Tarver was 65.

He was a Madera grad who went connected to play astatine Reedley College.

The Mets drafted him successful 1980 and his Major League debut came successful July of 1986 with the Red Sox.

Tarver went connected to service 20 years arsenic a correctional serviceman for Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
