Mountain lion euthanized after attacking 5-year-old boy at park near Los Angeles

A mountain lion was euthanized aft it attacked and injured a 5-year-old lad astatine a parkland adjacent Los Angeles implicit the weekend.

A household from Woodland Hills, including respective adults and a fewer children, was having a picnic astatine the Malibu Creek State Park erstwhile the onslaught happened Sunday afternoon, according to a connection from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

The children were playing adjacent the group's picnic array erstwhile the upland lion attacked the boy, wildlife officials said. At slightest 1 of the adults charged astatine the lion, who past released the lad and ran up a adjacent tree.

When California State Parks rangers and Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies arrived astatine the scene, the ample feline was inactive successful the tree.
