LIVE: Fresno State officials discuss joining Pac-12 conference

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno State is officially joining the Pac-12 league successful 2026, the assemblage has announced.

The Bulldogs, on with Boise State, San Diego State, and Colorado State, volition officially go members of the league connected July 1, 2026.

The Pac-12 has been looking to regroup pursuing the departure of 10 teams to assorted assemblage shot conferences. Currently, the lone schools successful the league are Washington State and Oregon State.

"Joining the Pac-12 Conference is simply a transformative infinitesimal for Fresno State," said Garrett Klassy, Fresno State's Director of Athletics successful a property release.

The league is present moving to rebuild to the NCAA's minimum of 8 schools by July of 2026.

The Pac-12 is simply a league that Fresno State has been trying to get into for years.

Most of Fresno State's athletics programs person been successful the Mountain West since 2012.
