DA: Selma City Council candidate charged for false declaration of candidacy

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Charges person been filed against a Selma City Council campaigner for filing a mendacious declaration of candidacy, the Fresno County District's Attorney Office announced.

The DA's Office says they filed charges against Jobita Camacho, 41, of Selma connected Tuesday for filing a mendacious declaration of candidacy and perjury.

According to the District's Attorney, it is alleged that connected July 25, Camacho submitted paperwork to tally for the District 4 Council Seat connected the Selma City Council, erstwhile she lives successful District 2. She did truthful nether punishment of perjury.

If convicted, the DA's bureau says Camacho faces a maximum of 4 years successful authorities prison. Her arraignment was scheduled for Sept. 25.
