Will Congress’s expert advisory agencies lose their clout?

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) is an autarkic authorities watchdog bureau that provides Congress with non-partisan audits and ineligible analyses, but its existent leader's word is expiring soon and the existent president has demonstrated a penchant for loyal appointees, perchance rendering the GAO toothless.
