Tulare County teen's 'joke' threatened a school shooting, police say

EXETER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 15-year-old was arrested aft helium allegedly threatened a schoolhouse shooting successful Tulare County connected Wednesday that helium said was "intended arsenic a joke," constabulary said.

On Oct. 15 astatine astir 9:20 p.m., the Exeter Police Department was alerted to threats of a imaginable schoolhouse shooting that was posted connected a societal media platform. The threats were directed towards Exeter High School.

After an investigation, detectives identified a 15-year-old pupil arsenic the root of the threats. Officers went to the teen's home, wherever constabulary said helium admitted to making the threats but claimed they were "intended arsenic a joke."

While astatine the teen's home, officers said they recovered that helium had entree to 3 firearms and had been sharing images of the weapons with different students. The teenager's sanction was not officially released.
