Former Fresno County Sheriff Steven Magarian has passed away. He is survived by his woman and his 2 daughters.
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Former Fresno County Sheriff Steven Magarian has passed away.
Magarian began his instrumentality enforcement vocation successful 1966 arsenic a reserve lawman sheriff and was hired arsenic a regular lawman successful 1968.
He worked connected respective assignments, including successful the jail, courts and patrol aboriginal successful his career.
He besides earned a bachelor's and master's grade from Fresno State portion moving astatine the department.
In 1986, Magarian was elected sheriff and was re-elected some successful 1990 and 1994.
He retired successful 1999, marking 33 years successful nationalist service.
He is survived by his woman and his 2 daughters.
Magarian was 82 years old.
