SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK (KFSN) -- Search efforts person been scaled backmost for a Los Angeles pistillate who was swept distant by a stream wrong Sequoia National Park.

26-year-old Jomarie Calasanz was visiting the country with household and friends connected Memorial Day weekend.

On Sunday, May 25, Calasanz jumped into the stream to prevention her sister erstwhile she was swept distant by the acold and highly accelerated stream currents of the Middle Fork of the Kaweah River adjacent Paradise Creek Bridge.

Her sister is OK, authorities said. A multi-agency hunt effort lasted 9 days.

However, the National Parks Service says until unsafe stream conditions amended less resources are present being assigned to the search.
