FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Access to a portion of the Sierra National Forest has been restored aft blasting the broadside of a mountain, the U.S. Forest Service announced Tuesday.
The Sierra National Forest (SNF) announced they successfully cleared a large stone landslide connected Garnite Dike Road which restored entree for some wood absorption and recreation.
Forest officials accidental the task began pursuing the Basin Fire that occurred this past summer. The blockage had severely constricted entree for fundamentally bureau operations, highlighting the urgent request for intervention.
Engineers, occurrence officials, and rangers worked to make unsocial strategies for clearing the roadworthy and yet decided to blast the area.
After clearing the slide, SNF says crews touched up connected refining the roadbed, adding culverts, and updating signage for safety.
