MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two men from Oregon were arrested successful Merced County aft being recovered with astir 37 pounds of cocaine worthy a thoroughfare worth of $1.3M successful a Jeep Cherokee connected Interstate 5, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says connected September 7 astatine 6:05 p.m., officers stopped the Jeep for a postulation usurpation connected northbound Interstate 5, northbound of Highway 152. When officers searched the Jeep they recovered astir 37 pounds of cocaine.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Tyler Lee Smith, 24, of Philomath, Oregon, and Angel Pacheco, 20, of Albany, Oregon, were arrested.

Both suspects were transported and booked into the Merced County Jail.
