(NewsNation) — The U.S. subject conducted 3 strikes connected 4 boats successful the Eastern Pacific, sidesplitting much than a twelve alleged narcotics traffickers, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday.
The boats were allegedly operated by members of "designated violent organizations," though Hegseth did not specify which. Hegseth confirmed the attacks connected societal media, accompanied by footage of the "three lethal kinetic strikes" carried retired Monday.
In total, 14 individuals — described by Hegseth arsenic "narco-terrorists" — were killed successful the strikes, and 1 survived.
Mexican hunt and rescue authorities person "assumed responsibility" for the rescue of the subsister aboard, Hegseth said.
