Man dies after drowning in Merced River, officials say

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A antheral has died aft authorities accidental helium drowned successful the Merced River.

The Merced County Sheriff's Office was called retired earlier 7 p.m. Thursday to the Cressey Bridge country connected the river.

Witnesses told deputies that the antheral was struggling successful the h2o and mislaid show of him aft being swept distant by a current.

Dive equipment, a chopper and drones were utilized successful efforts to find the man.

Just earlier 11 p.m. Thursday, a diver recovered the man's body. He was declared dormant astatine the scene.

Authorities are not releasing his individuality astatine this time.
