(NewsNation) — Authorities are providing an update Thursday connected the ongoing search for 2 escapees from a New Orleans jail.
A associated quality league is being held by Crimestoppers GNO, Louisiana State Police, the FBI, the ATF, U.S. Marshals and the New Orleans Police Department, according to WWL-TV.
Derrick Groves, 27, and Antoine Massey, 33, are the past remaining fugitives aft a group of 10 inmates escaped the Orleans Parish jailhouse connected May 16.
Groves was convicted successful October 2024 successful transportation with the killings of 2 radical during Mardi Gras successful 2018. According to WDSU, Groves was recovered blameworthy of 2 charges of second-degree execution and 2 charges of attempted second-degree murder.
Massey was jailed connected charges of home maltreatment involving strangulation and the theft of a car, which New Orleans constabulary said took spot successful November. According to booking information, Massey had besides been charged with violating his parole.
A $20,000 reward per inmate is being offered for accusation starring to their capture. Authorities person said they're pursuing leads crossed Louisiana and neighboring states.
So far, 13 different arrests person been made successful transportation with the escape, including civilians, an inmate and a jail attraction worker.
