LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles County filed a suit Wednesday against Southern California Edison, hoping to retrieve costs and damages caused by the Eaton Fire.

The suit was filed against SCE and Edison International (SCE) and alleges that SCE's instrumentality caused the deadly blaze, requiring the region to incur "massive costs responding to the occurrence and its aftermath."

The cities of Pasadena and Sierra Madre are besides filing lawsuits against SCE for "damages to payer resources and nationalist infrastructure incurred from the fire."

The Eaton Fire burned much than 14,000 acres, destroyed much than 9,000 structures and resulted successful 17 deaths.

L.A. County's suit claims that the Eaton Fire has "massively impacted the County's earthy resources, harmed the situation and wildlife, and threatened nationalist health."
