Kings County recognizes Black History Month

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Kings County has adopted a solution recognizing February 2025 arsenic Black History Month.

In the announcement connected Wednesday, the Kings County Board of Supervisors says the adopted solution reaffirms the county's committedness to celebrating the taste heritage, contributions, and achievements of Black Americans wrong the community.

"Black History Month is simply a clip to bespeak connected the struggles and triumphs of Black Americans who person shaped our nation. It's an accidental to observe their resilience, grant their contributions, and reaffirm our committedness to equality and justness for all,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Doug Verboon.

County officials promote assemblage members and leaders to amended themselves regarding Black accomplishments, hardships, contributions and achievements passim the county, authorities and country.

"The Kings County solution highlights the value of recognizing and learning from the past, portion besides celebrating the ongoing achievements and contributions of Black Americans to the region and the nation," said Kings County Administrative Officer Kyria Martinez.
