Flag-raising successful  Fresno marks 109 years since Armenian Genocide

April 24 marks 109 years since the Armenian Genocide. A flag-raising ceremonial was held Wednesday greeting astatine Fresno City Hall.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- April 24 marks 109 years since the Armenian Genocide.

In 1915, 1.5 cardinal Armenians were killed successful Turkey.

Many fled to different countries, including the United States. Tens of thousands of Armenian Americans present unrecorded successful Fresno.

A flag-raising ceremonial was held Wednesday greeting astatine Fresno City Hall.

Local leaders gathered for the commemoration ceremony, including Valley Congressman Jim Costa and City Councilmember Mike Karbassi.

On Tuesday, Fresno County supervisors besides proclaimed a time of remembrance for the victims.

Supervisors wore "Forget Me Not" pins connected their lapels to amusement support.
