DOJ: Sinaloa man sentenced for drug trafficking

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 36-year-old antheral from Sinaloa, Mexico, was sentenced Monday for possessing methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin with intent to distribute, Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith announced. 

Isaac Abraham Sandoval Lopez was sentenced to 4 years and 9 months successful prison, U.S. District Judge Kirk E. Sherriff said.

On June 26, 2024, officers stopped Sandoval Lopez for a postulation infraction portion driving northbound connected Interstate 5 successful Fresno County. 

A hunt of his car, Beckwith said, revealed respective bags, suitcases, and backpacks passim the car containing antithetic types of narcotics. 

In total, officers seized astir 230 pounds of methamphetamine, 5 pounds of fentanyl, and 2 pounds of heroin, said Beckwith.
