DHS investigating CA for allegedly providing benefits to migrants

The authorities of California is being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly providing national benefits to migrants who are successful the U.S. illegally.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The authorities of California is being investigated by the Department of Homeland Security for allegedly providing national benefits to migrants who are successful the U.S. illegally.

The California Cash Assistance Program for Immigrants (CAPI) is being subpoenaed implicit the matter.

Federal officials impeach the programme of helping migrants person benefits who are ineligible for Social Security benefits due to the fact that of their migration status.

The subpoena requests each records from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services, which administers the authorities program, to find if ineligible migrants received Supplemental Security Income from the Social Security Administration, betwixt January 2021 to present.

HSI Los Angeles is subpoenaing the pursuing records, according to the agency:

-- Applicant's Name and Date of Birth
-- Copies of Applications
-- Immigration Status
-- Proof of Ineligibility for SSI from the Social Security Administration
-- Affidavits successful Support of the Application
