MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Coarsegold schoolhouse was placed connected lockdown aft a study of a firearm astatine the school, according to the Madera County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies accidental they responded Tuesday greeting to a study that a pupil astatine Coarsegold Elementary School brought a weapon successful his backpack to school.
Investigators accidental they had accusation that the pupil inadvertently brought the weapon to school. When helium realized it was successful his bag, helium notified his teacher.
Deputies were notified, and the schoolhouse was placed connected lockdown arsenic a procedural precaution.
During the investigation, they identified the limb arsenic a starter pistol that was not loaded.
The lockdown has since been lifted. This incidental remains nether investigation.
