MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A 17-year-old has died pursuing a clang successful Merced County Saturday wherever a conveyance went done a obstruction and into a canal, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says connected Feb. 15 astatine astir 7:00 p.m. an ambulance responded to a clang adjacent Snelling Road and Youd Road.

According to CHP, a 2016 Nissan Altima ran disconnected the roadway and crashed into a canal with water. CHP says lone 1 conveyance was involved.

The archetypal probe determined that the operator was driving astatine an chartless complaint of velocity northbound of Snelling Road and southbound of Youd Road, according to CHP.

For chartless reasons, CHP says the 17-year-old operator from Merced allowed the conveyance to veer onto the westbound ungraded shoulder. It crashed done a obstruction and went into the canal.
