FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The assemblage of a 16-year-old lad who did not resurface aft going into the h2o astatine Shaver Lake has been recovered.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office says the teen was connected a pontoon vessel with a friend's family.
Deputies judge astir 12:30 p.m. Sunday, helium jumped into the h2o with his floatation device, but astatine 1 constituent it separated and helium went underwater. Those connected the vessel with him instantly called for help.
A sheriff's lawman adjacent rapidly jumped into action, grabbing a snorkel and diving nether the h2o to look for him.
The lawman located the teen 15 feet underwater and swam down to get him.
Investigators accidental it was a squad effort to get him into a rescue vessel but the 16-year-old died.
The Fresno County Sheriff's Office Dive squad was joined by the Fresno County Fire Department and the Shaver Lake Volunteer Fire Department during the search.
